James Menker founded his law practice in 2007 with a focus on global Intellectual Property law.  In the beginning the firm stored and managed documents on local hardware, but James foresaw that this would not be a secure or scalable solution for the long term.

When first starting his practice, James Menker created documents in the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe, where documents lived (only) on each attorney’s local laptop hard drive.

James had the foresight to know that this mode of operation was not scalable, didn’t allow for collaboration with his growing team, and would not be secure.

This began James’ search for secure cloud-based tool to manage documents and email.  The firm needed a robust document management platform, but what that would be accessible and easy for his firm to adopt.

The Solution

James found Uptime Legal, who helped him systematically move his law firm to the cloud.

With Uptime Legal’s help, James moved his client and matter data, documents and email to LexWorkplace.

Today, the Holley & Menker team works from multiple offices and from home, and rest easy knowing their data is available anytime, and kept ultra-secure.
